Pets and death
One of my last post was about Sandy and Shadow and well Shadow has gone to doggie heaven. I was actually up in the mountains for the weekend and he expired on that Saturday. He was a really big dog - 118 lbs of love and he had a similar thing that the dog had in the movie "Marly and Me". It has taken a while for me to get over it and I didn't know it would take so long. I still have their picture together on my desk at work. Can't seem to change it to just Sandy (I have pics of her too). Sandy and Shadow had matching dog houses that had their openings shaped like an L right by one another. They would switch from each other's dog houses and was really dependent on what Sandy wanted (she was the oldest of the two). After he expired, she wouldn't go in either one of the dog houses and would just sit in front of their front entrances. It was so sad to see her like that. Even after we bought her another doghouse, she still won't get in the doghouse. Not sure what to do about that. We thought about getting another dog after a few months but we still haven't. Not sure we are.

Scardy Cat Dog
We have two wonderful mutts. One is a Lab. mix, Sandy, who is probably mixed with Chow because she hates water and has blue spots on her tongue. She's 45 lbs of attitude. Our other dog, Shadow, is 118 lbs of love. He's a Rot. mix, probably with St. Bernard - he has jowels and everything. Anyway, one night Sandy was just a barking at about 3:00 in the morning. We tried to get her to stop but no such luck, so we went out to the backyard with a bat and a flashlight to see what was going on. We followed Sandy to the spot in the bushes where she was barking with Shadow following behind us. She barked at the bush like crazy so we poked the bat in the bush and the bush growled? We decided that we all needed to sleep inside for the night and turned to see where Shadow was. Well he was no where to be found. We finally noticed his eyes, he was as far away from us as possible in the yard, sitting in a corner and was coming no where near any of the excitement. Our scardy cat dog. We love him.
Since my original post, Shadow has gone on to Doggy Heaven.
